Gleditsia triacanthos var. inermis 'Harve'
Northern Acclaim® Thornless Honeylocust

NDSU Plant Sciences Introduction

Technology: Horticulture Cultivar (RFM-30)
Gleditsia triacanthos var. inermis 'Harve' Northern Acclaim® Thornless Honeylocust

Description:
A medium-large tree with greater winter hardiness than other available cultivars in the nursery trade. It is thornless, seedless, fast-growing and fairly upright in form, similar to Skyline®. With age, the sturdy tree widens. It is quite drought tolerant and develops yellow fall color. Winter hardiness is definitely superior to Skyline® and Imperial® in North Dakota sites. Available in the nursery trade.  Northern Acclaim® reaches a semi-mature height of 35 to 45 feet in 25 years.  Hardy in USDA Zone 3.
