KoolKat® Katsura Tree, Cercidiphyllum japonicum 'KoolDak' (RFM-81)
This is a cold-hardy selection of Cercidiphyllum japonicum that has survived without damage in USDA climatic zone 3a at -37 degrees F. Foliage goes through an amazing seasonal color change from bronzy spring emergence, bluish-green in the summer to yellow/apricot in the fall. This selection is unique in that it has early fall dormancy as compared to the species, assisting with increasing the winter hardiness.
