Novel UV-Curable Urethane Acrylate

RFT-332

Scientists at NDSU have recently developed a novel oligomer synthesized from the reaction of glycidyl carbamate functional resin with acrylic acid.  The resin can be mixed with additional acrylate diluent resins, photoinitiators, and cured using UV light to a hard coating.  The coatings can be applied on wood, metal and plastics and has unique attributes such as tighter adhesion than conventional urethane acrylate resins.
